Snowflake Obsidian adds additional properties of balance to the grounding and shielding properties of regular obsidian. Obsidian is a truth telling stone and it teaches you to value mistakes as well as successes, as they each are equally important on your path. Snowflake Obsidian provides balance for body, mind and spirit. It helps you recognize and release “wrong thinking” and stressful mental patterns. It assists in surrender to aid in meditation and is especially useful in shadow work to balance and integrate the light and the dark. It can also assist with bringing hope and light to the darkness, provide comfort during conflict, and offers persistence during difficult times.

Snowflake obsidian is made of volcanic glass with tiny clusters of needle-shaped cristobalite, a type of quartz, called spherulites. The spherulites vary in size and density, creating unique patterns. Snowflake obsidian forms when lava cools rapidly, trapping microscopic crystals within the glass.
