Apache tears are a type of obsidian, a volcanic glass. They are named after a legend about the Apache tribe, where their tears, shed after a battle, are said to have turned into these stones. Geologically, they are formed when rhyolitic lava cools rapidly, and some of the material doesn't fully hydrate, leaving behind these obsidian nodules. They exhibit similar properties to Black Obsidian.
Apache Tears are associated with emotional healing, particularly for grief and sorrow. They are also thought to provide protection against negative energy and promote grounding.
Affirmation: "I am supported as I allow myself to grieve."
